Floating on water naturally induces a sense of weightlessness, which reduces muscular tension and signals the body to relax.
When combined with sound frequencies (like crystal bowls, gongs, or chimes), it helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering heart rate and blood pressure.
Sound travels four times faster through water than air, meaning your body absorbs the vibrations more deeply.
This amplifies the therapeutic effects of sound waves, promoting cellular-level relaxation and helping to release stored emotional tension.
The combination of sound frequencies, gentle water movement, and darkness (with a sleep mask) helps the brain shift into alpha and theta brainwave states, similar to deep meditation or the moments before sleep perfect for reducing overthinking, anxiety, or burnout.
Soft or colour-changing lighting can enhance emotional release and balance:
Blue or green tones calm the mind and body.
Purple or pink tones support heart and crown chakra activation, aiding intuition and self-compassion.
Together, this creates a multi-sensory healing environment that supports both body and spirit.
Using sleep masks and blankets helps to block external stimulation, making it easier to enter a state of restorative stillness.
This environment can:
Promote melatonin production (the sleep hormone)
Help release emotional fatigue
Encourage a sense of safety and comfort, essential for deep rest and emotional repair
Many participants describe floating sound baths as energy realignments.
The combination of sound frequency and buoyancy supports energy flow through the body’s chakras and meridians, leaving you feeling lighter, clearer, and rebalanced.
Floating on an airbed in a softly lit pool is an immersive experience that combines floatation therapy, sound healing, and meditation.
It helps participants feel cradled, cocooned, and deeply nurtured, often leading to emotional release or profound insight.

Approx 10 mins to get everyone into the pool.
50mins of sound healing.
At Sensory Sounds, we do everything we can to create a warm, relaxing, and serene environment a place where you can truly let go and allow peace to wash over you. Our floatation therapy sessions are designed with comfort and safety in mind.
Each guest floats effortlessly on an extremely sturdy double airbed, giving you a feeling of gentle support as the soothing sounds ripple through the water around you.
You’re free to wear whatever makes you feel most at ease whether that’s your favourite swimwear, yoga attire, or something loose and comfortable, some people come in their PJ's. We want you to feel completely relaxed and at home in your body.
Every detail from the lighting to the fabrics, from the frequencies to the float is carefully curated to help you unwind, rebalance, and reconnect with your calm.
Because here at Sensory Sounds, it’s not just about listening it’s about feeling.
If you have epilepsy, severe hearing sensitivity, a pacemaker, or any other medical condition that might be affected by sound or water immersion, please consult your doctor beforehand.
Floatation sound therapy baths are safe and deeply relaxing during pregnancy, but only in the second and third trimesters are you able to attend. We always recommend speaking with your healthcare provider first.
Not at all. You’ll lay safely on our double airbeds. The aim is complete relaxation no swimming required. There are 2 lifegaurds at the side of the pool who will be observing for safety and we have an assistant in the pool to support you.
That’s absolutely fine and very common! Many people drift off during a sound bath, especially when floating in such a deeply relaxing environment. Even while you sleep, your body and mind continue to absorb the healing vibrations and frequencies of the sound. This helps to reset your parasympthetic nervous system and so this can make the body completely relaxed. Just enjoy it. In fact, falling asleep often means you’ve reached a state of complete surrender and deep rest, which is exactly what your body needs. You’ll still wake up feeling calmer, lighter, and fully restored.
We do ask you bring a towel if you would like. We provide everything else including your airbed, blanket and eye mask.
